Dawn K. Gull graduated cum laude from Evangel University, Springfield, Missouri, in 1992, and earned her Juris Doctor degree from Duquesne University School of Law in 1996, where she served as Vice Justice of the Phi Alpha Delta legal fraternity. She was admitted to the practice of law in Pennsylvania in November of 1996, and has practiced family law since that time.
Ms. Gull was admitted to practice before the Federal District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania in 1996, and before the Third Circuit Court of Appeals in 1997. She is a member of the Family Law Sections of the Allegheny County Bar Association and the Pennsylvania Bar Association. Ms. Gull began her legal career in 1996 and has focused on family law matters, including divorce, custody, support, and equitable distribution since that time. Ms. Gull has experience in all aspects of divorce litigation, support, custody, and equitable distribution issues. She has also represented clients in juvenile court matters and adoptions. She handles matters in Allegheny and Butler Counties.
She is a member of the ACBA Family Law Section, and has served on the Executive Council as Chair of the Section. She formerly co-chaired the Children’s Issues Sub-Committee for 11 years. She has served on council of the Pennsylvania Bar Associations Family Law Section, where she chaired the Membership Committee, and has served on the Nominating Committee. She is a regular attendee of the PBA Family Law Section workshops, having served on a panel for the Summer 2010 conference and the winter 2018 conference.
She has served on the Allegheny County Bar Associations Public Service Committee and Audit Committee. She is a member and former chair of the Allegheny County Bar Associations Professional Ethics Committee, and has served on the Bench-Bar Committee. Ms. Gull is a Visionary Fellow with the Allegheny County Bar Foundation. Ms. Gull served as president (2009-2011) and secretary (2007-2009) of the Pittsburgh chapter of the Matrimonial Inns of Court, a professional group which promotes legal excellence, civility, professionalism and ethics. She participates in the Neighborhood Legal Services Pro-Bono PFA program, providing representation to abused persons in Protection from Abuse actions. She has volunteered for the Allegheny County Pro-Se Motions Court program, assisting pro-se litigants in preparing pleadings to be presented to the court. She has also been a speaker and course planner for various continuing legal education programs in Pennsylvania and Allegheny County. She was named in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025 as a Super Lawyer by the Philadelphia Magazine. She was named one of the Top 50 Lawyers in Pittsburgh in 2021 and 2022 by the Pittsburgh Magazine. In addition to her legal affiliations, Ms. Gull has served on the North Allegheny School District 2007-2013 Strategic Plan Steering Committee.
